01Thankfully Samsung’s big cat is finally coming out of the bag as we’re beginning to see the bada powered Samsung Wave S8500 becoming readily available for purchase. T-Mobile UK currently is offering the Super-AMOLED handset with pricing ranging from free all the way to £59.99 depending on how much you pay for your monthly plan. For those individuals that prefer the unlocked route, there are a variety of online retailers that are offering pre-orders for the device – one site has it going for $597.50 which will no doubt put a sizzling hole in your pockets afterwards. Despite that, we’re sure there are people out there that are ready and willing to pay the premium to be the first to experience the bada powered handset. The Samsung Wave features a 3.3” super-AMOLED touchscreen, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi, 1GHz processor, 5-megapixel camera, aGPS, 720p recording/encoding, and DivX/XviD support.

Samsung: more and cheaper bada-based handsets on the way

01We know we will have to wait longer until we finally see the Samsung Wave S8500 hit the shelves, but we guess many of you are asking themselves “Will there be affordable devices based on Samsung’s bada platform?”. Fortunately, the answer appears to be „Yes”.

Samsung has revealed part of their plans relating to more cell phones based on bada at a dedicated event in Russia. It seems the newly announced handsets with the operating system will roll out with price tags in the range $340 – $685, meaning the Wave still remains the most expensive member of the new family. A slide from the presentation shows four cell phones, two of them with QWERTY keyboards, although it’s still anyone’s guess whether the real devices look like this. Moreover, the scraps of information do not reveal any details about the names of the new bada-based handsets.

The Samsung Wave S8500 did impress us, so we just cannot wait to get our hands on the new cell phones with bada. We hope we get to unearth more details about them soon and we would certainly not say “no” to more information about their specifications.source: SamsungHub
